Holiday Open House
Celebrate the holidays with us at the library at our annual Holiday Open House!
Warm up with food, live music from The Tinderwoods, crafts, new books, a letter station, AND a visit from Santa Claus himself! The Book Nook will also be open extra hours from 5 to 7 PM during the event.
We will draw for raffle prize winners from our Where’s Ludlow? Scavenger Hunt, so be sure to have your cards returned by 5 PM!
Storytime Dance Party
Come dance with us at the library! Our monthly dance parties for preschool-aged kiddos have plenty of songs, stories, and dancing. Caregivers are required to be present, and may even find it impossible to resist joining in the fun!
Met Opera: Andrea Chénier
Join us in the Carnegie Room during our 2025-2026 Met Opera season for a presentation of Andrea Chénier! Giordano’s great tragedy blends verismo’s focus on the raw emotions of everyday people with the spectacle of historical grand opera.

Buffalo Bill Boycott & Dr. Jo's Holiday Roundup - Library Benefit
Ring in the holiday season and support your local libraries at Buffalo Bill Boycott & Dr. Jo’s Holiday Roundup Library Benefit Concert!
Buffalo Bill and Dr. Jo perform on the fiddle, banjo, mandolin, and guitar during this live music performance offering Holiday and Christmas songs, stories, poems, and entertaining skits in the festive spirit of the Cowboys and Pioneers of Wyoming and the Old West! Seating is limited, so be sure to get tickets for the family as soon as you can! (see below for ticket info)
Doors Open: 5:30 PM | Event Start: 6:00 PM

-$10/person for Adults
-Free for kids 12 and under (ticket still needed for entry)
-Tickets are required for entry and are available for purchase at the Lander Library or at the door before the show (if available), cash or check only for payment (checks payable to the Fremont County Library Foundation)
Can't make the show in Lander? Additional shows will take place the 20th in Riverton and 21st in Dubois! Inquire with RBL or DBL staff about ticket availability for the other shows.

Met Opera: The Magic Flute - Holiday Presentation
Join us in the Carnegie Room for a special holiday presentation of The Magic Flute. A treasured holiday tradition, Mozart’s heartwarming fairy tale takes the stage featuring some of opera’s most popular melodies and brought to life with colorful sets and costumes and dazzling puppetry. It’s perfect for audiences of all ages.
Library Closure: Christmas
The Fremont County Library System will be closed Wednesday, December 24th and Thursday, December 25th for the Christmas holiday. Regular hours will resume on Friday, December 26th.
Library Closure: New Year’s
The Fremont County Library System will close early at 5 PM Wednesday, December 31st, and remain closed through Thursday, January 1st, 2026 for the New Year’s holiday. Regular hours will resume on Friday, January 2nd.
Holiday Lego Extravaganza!
Join us at the library for some Lego-building fun with plenty of holiday-themed Lego activities for this month’s Lego Club meet-up for kiddos ages 5-12! Children under 7 must be accompanied by a caregiver.

Strauss’s elegant romance brings the glamour and enchantment of 19th-century Vienna to the Met stage in a sumptuous production by legendary director Otto Schenk that “is as beautiful as one could hope” (The New York Times).

Thank you to our nation’s veterans for your service! The Fremont County Library System will be closed Tuesday, November 11th, in observance of the Veterans Day holiday. Regular hours will resume Wednesday, November 12th.

Lego Club and Junior Builders
Join us at the library for some Lego building fun! Our once monthly Lego Club is open to children ages 6 to 12 for free building with library Legos, creations will be displayed in the Children’s department for the week following the club. Our Junior Builders club is open to children ages 3 to 5 with an adult caregiver.

Frights & Bites Halloween Movie Night
Join us this spooky season for a spooktacular, free showing of the 1954 cult classic film, Them! (film not rated). Scary good treats and refreshments are provided, costumes are welcome! All ages are welcome to attend (parental discretion advised).

Trick or treat yourself to a spooky good time with the StoryHour Players' Halloween Plays public performance of Witch Way Did They Go?, The Witch and the Scarecrow, and The Frustrated Corpse in the Carnegie!
Please note: No storytime will be offered this week as patrons are invited to join us for these special performances in place of our regular storytime offering, but please keep in mind that these live performances may be too stimulating for our youngest patrons.
